JC in the house

I don't know if Im the only one, but I had pretty much just dismissed the JC de Castelbajac a/w09 collection as those silly muppet dresses and that tacky dollar bill dress katy perry kept working. However thier latest window in the Conduit st shop made me stop and relook, and ive actually found some way cute pieces that I love. OK I know they still pretty much still run in the tackymuppetness theme, but they still made me aw.

However, Im pretty sure the staff in that joint look like the biggest bunch of stuck up losers, so I don't know when I will ever be stepping foot in that joint...

She's a monster

That last post was my 150th. Wish Id known. It was a nice post though for the 150th.

Anyway anyway anyway, I was just doing some internet digging for a friend, looking for these shots from the May 2007 UK Vogue, and Im so glad I found them because honestly and truthfully this is one of my favourite editorials of all time. I have it all on my walls back home. So yeah it was nice to look at the shots again, and I thought Id share.

Lara Stone shot by Mario Testino for Vogue May 2007. Oh incidentally the latest issue sees Lara reunited with Testino. the shot is nice, but not like this:

ugggggggggggghhhhhh SOOOOOO GOOOOOOODDDD!!!!

I especially love the rubber stockings, and the nude turban. oh and the ruffles. And how Lara is looking like she fell from space. The first picture is my favourite. This is how we must live our LIVES!

PS. the title of the post comes from a comment on HERE which is where i pretty much stole all these pictures from. Im a cheeky fucker.

PAMELA LOVE. OH MY GOD.

Ok so Ive been privately throwing uip abouit Pamela Love's newest collection, and now its tuime to shout it out loud.

You see I had a fun little game of pretending to be rich so the nice lady in Libertys would get everything out for me to fondle and dribble over and go ahhhhh i wuish i had six hundred pounds to be able to spend on nice thuings like this. These bird skull necklaces... so dreamy. Also the craw bangles... heaven. I wish theyd had the Where the wild things are collection too because that looks amazing. Actually I had a nice chat with the lady (who I totally recognized from somewhere?) which made me feel better abouit totally lying about the fact that I might be able to actually buy it.

They really are really cool pieces.

Daul Kim...

I can't quite believe this...  Daul Kim found dead in Paris, aged just 20 (like me...). Im so sad. This also means the list of dead people I have pictures of on my walls is growing. This is definately not what I want. I dont want to sound cliche, but rest in peace DK. sadness all around really.

Style Icon#2 : Cole Sear

Basically I pretty much thought the Sixth Sense sucked when I finally saw it earlier this year. It was so obvious and Bruce Willis is so boring and... flat. But anyway what I really liked about it was Cole Sear and his killer old-man-in-a-childs-body wardrobe. There are definately some perfect Autumn/Winter outfits throughout. Basically I am doing bad at finding good pictures...

YES to round neck knitwear and double yes to high collared shirt underneath. I love the two colours together, the block of red wool next to the pale blue (i think?) of the collar. its good ya?

Love the tones here, the shade of reddy-brown (MAPLE????) is so nice, and that tie just completes it. I am literally not the sort of person who would ever wear a tie unless FORCED, however maybe if it looked like this? I could also imagine this outfit minus the tie and also with the collar cut off, creating a sort of frayed round neck effect sort of thing. Oh this is something ive been planning to do you see, ie buy lots of charity shop shirts and cut off the collars. woop. Oh speaking of charity shops, Im going to one later that ive been planning on going to for so long and Im mega excited coz it looks literally amaze. update later yo.

Anyways thats pretty much all the pictures I could find... lame. However I remember him wearing a really nice coat. Also Im sure I remember him wearing glassless glasses? fun times.

Style Icon #1: Mary Zophres

Hey mofos. Sorry I haven't had much to write about recently.... expect a BARRAGE of posts now. yes, a barrage.

So I was thinking about some of my personal style icons. Basically the one person I have pretty much based my entire life on is Enid from Ghost World. yes yes yes I know this is starting to become a complete geek blogger cliche, but let me assure you kids that I was definately one of the first. It started a long time ago.
Anyways I was thinking, although it is the life and style of enid that I definately am obsessed with, I have to pretty much realise that she is just a character cooked up by Dan Clowes, and styled for film by another person. Therefore I thought Id do a bit of research to find out who this mystery wonderstylist is, and found that the film was styled by Mary Zophres... further research found that she has basically styled like every one of my favourite films, pretty much. And so this post is homage to all that damn good styling in all those damn good films. clicky here for a full list. now check it out...

Ghost World

No Country for Old Men

The Big Lebowski

Burn After Reading

YAY!
