Hello, yes its another post where I talk about Harold and Maude.
Although sort of not so I don't feel bad about repeating myself. But it is the best so i don't care, I will talk about it as much as I want thank you.
Anyway what I am trying to say is I was very moved by this Harold and Maude inspired fashion story in the May Dazed, with photography by Ben Toms and styling by Robbie Spencer.
There were many elements of the film which could have been introduced into the story, and I think some are sorted hinted at - a raised brow and vague expression, or slight look of mischeif - but I think mainly it focuses on the real tenderness between the two protaganists. So beautiful, so wonderful. And definately captures the essence of the wonderful fashion seen in the film. I like, I like.
OHMAGAAD! Totally going to the Fever Ray gig tonight in Brixton. Im so excited I think I could probably be sick all over my laptop. gaaaahhhhhhh!!!
The image above comes direct from the brand new Dazed Digital site, which is the most insane thing ever, its so good! I mean it has always been consistant with great articles and the such like anyways, but now it feels like it ties in a lot more with the magazine, and actually is probably the most succesful magazine style website, I would say...
Anyway what makes it even more great is THIS cool Fever Ray interview and mix tape that was featured as part of the sites new launch. I love all the images and it got me even more super excited for tonights show. Oh its going to be so fucking good I can just TELL!!!

Yup, pretty much my most major obessesion with fashion is the magazines. I think I get about 5 a month at the moment, I keep discovering new ones I just gotta buyyy. Theres still so many more from this season I havent got yet either (Fantastic Man, The Gentlewoman, Lula, Man about town, Arena Homme +...) so it will probably be growing even more in the coming weeks. This lot doesnt include my 2 years worth of subscriptions to Harper's Baazar and the Elles I buy reguarly coz to be honest they go straight onto my cutting pile. I used to cut up all of them (some of my early vogues are in tatters :( im sad to say!) but now I keep them all pristine and have done so for the last 2 and a bit years. But the Elles and Harpers pretty much cure my craving to cut out all the pretty pictures. Well sometimes.
The pile on the left is sort of my mis match pile, with the one off magazines Ive bought etc. Well it started off as my TANK pile but now they have that new ring bound format that doesnt stack so nicely so I keep those on my bookshelf now. From bottom to top: Interview June/July 09, Hercules issue 05 (probs s/s 09 I think), 5 TANKs (Volume 5 I think but i dunno the numbers and cant be bothered to pull them out to look right now haha), Another magazine issues 17&18, SUPERSUPER # 18, Man About Town =05 A/W09, GQ Style 10, 10 Men (yuck, the worst magazine I ever bought) S/S'10, Fantastic Man Winter 09, Elle Collections s/s'10 (I usually cut these up too, but this seasons was amaazin), WAD #44 (got it in Paris), Flux - The Hysterical Issue, Lula F/W 09, Vogue Hommes International 11, Bon International (one of my favourites of all time) s/s'10, Jalouse Avril 2010...
The pile on the right is a bit more organised! Wonderland magazine May 2008- Feb/March 2010 (I need to get this months - carey Mulligan is on the cover looking sweeet), Love issue 1-3, Arena Homme + S/S 08- A/W 09, Another Man s/s 09-s/s 10, Pop 19-22 (both covers of issue 21).
Left: i-D May 2008 - Spring 2010. Im missing issues 288 and 293. CAN YOU HELP WITH THIS? Above the i-Ds: Dazed and Confused Vol II # 62-84... Im missing 64 and 66 and my #78 (october 09) got stolen and was my favourite ever so PLEASE if anyoine has this and you dont want it, EMAIL ME!!!!!!!

Also while Im here I wanna show you the suitacase Kieran got from Oxfam yesterday for a fiver, he's transformed it into a case for all his pedals. We're going down to a rehearsal studios later so it will be handy as handy can be.
IM SORRY I KNOW I HAVE POSTED ABOUT THIS LIKE AMILLIONTIMES BUT SERIOUSLY WHY DO I HAVE TO STILL WAIT ANOTHER 18 DAYS TO SEE THIS WHEN I AM SO DESPERATE AND EVERYONE ELSE ALL OVER THE WORLD HAS ALREADY GOT TO SEE IT MONTHS AGO? AHHHHH. seriously this trailer fills me with so much emotion. I just need to see it. like now! NOW!
Anyway, While we're on the subject....
I so love the new Dazed feature with the Opening Ceremony and PAMELA LOVE (<3) Wild things collections...
I know Im a million years late and probably the last person to do a review of the latest Dazed, but anyways here I go yo.
OK. So lets start with the obvious question first. why. the. fuck. is kristen stewart on the cover??? Yuck! She is so irrelevant to everything. and WHY does she ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS no matter what shes doing, saying, acting, ALWAYS pull that SAME FUCKING FACE???? honestly she must have been a botox baby or something because there is just nothing there. Am I just being a cunt? SRSLY!!!!! I aint even gonna talk about her feature inside because 1. I havent read it 2. I never will and 3. all it is, surprise suprise, is her pulling that same face. and all the big quotes on the page are just about fucking robert pattinson (is that his name?). oh YAWN.
OK now thats out of the way lets get on with it.
So unlike LOVE (see below), Dazed is full of editorial shots running throughout the magazine. However, Like LOVE it is also scattered with lots of small features on up and coming designers, collections, artists, shows, bands, actors, products etc etc. One of these that caught my eye was a short article on upcoming actor (I guess) Ezra Miller who I guess is like 15 or 16. Basically I just liked the picture.
Following this is a short editorial on '1980s inspired street style' or something. I swear Ive seen this same editorial so many times before, and the haircuts just get worse and worse and the models get dirtier and dirtier. I REALLY LOVE THE HAIR HERE THOUGH!!!!! sweeeet!!!! The glasses are by Fabris Lane. I like the next editorial alot too. I know this is another one of those thats been done so many times, but I think the styling in this piece is a pretty fresh look. There are a couple of shots I dont like, but overall its cool. Next is a big feature on a band called The Big Pink who I havent really heard of, although I think I heard a song on the radio the other day and I think I thought it was ok. Oh wait, I just youtubed. its this song
Yeah it aint bad. Shit video but whateva ya know. anyway anyway anyway... really I havent read the article, just admired these pictures. nice ya?
Then theres another article I also havent read (MAN! I AM SO BAD!) but I like these pix. something to do with archives, right? LOVE THESE. Hate this so called vampire shoot. boring. also i think theyre shot pretty badly, I cant see any depth in the fabric or anything. I may as well be looking at a cardboard cut out. I think if youre going to do a boring shoot like this it really HAS to be all about the CLOTHES. just cant see em though. I dont really get the references in the next shoot. Again it has something to do with archives, but I must be missing something. That pink iceburg coat has been everywhere. I like this page though. I hate this one though. this girl gives me the bad kind of creepz.
NEXT!!!! MY FAVOURITE OF THE MAGAZINE!!! awwwh shit so cool! I love the model, shes like a female Nick Cave. Love the styling too. Just great, I think.
More boring menswear. I just think they could have done so much better. I mean the inspiration is carravaggio for gods sake!! and this is the best they could do? They keep using that same kind of photoshop painty effect too. I like the chains in this one though.
and I do love the styling in his one.
The next feature again uses a same effect that keeps popping up. sort of cutty pastey collagey. its ok but nothing major.
This next menswear... Im sure they should have just merged this with that first lot (with the bad haircuts) and made a better amalgamated version of the both.
The last shoot features Bridget Hall and is quite slick but a bit fussy at the same time. (is that possible? well I didnt think it was but there you go). I love the jacket in this shot though.
