Whos got the LOVE?
Just got my little mits on the new LOVE, fresh off the press (I literally took it from the trolley as they were unloading it in Liverpool st WHSmiths...).
I got the Agyness cover just because its AWESOME but it was a really tough decision and I would like to say to all my favourite magaziners out there: PLEASE STOP WITH THE MULTIPLE COVER SITUATIONS!!! I love them alot but its just really hard on my collecting because I want them ALL which I could never afford. YEAH!
I guess I'll review it when Im back in Reading and can get some pictures etc etc. So far Im sort of unsure about alot of it, but then again I always find with LOVE that theres something just NOT QUITE RIGHT... do you know what I mean? like for one thing how many times did they print the word 'tits'? ...EDGY....

Elle Collections F/W 2010
Yesterday I got my little mitts on the new Elle Collections magazine, yippee.
Not surprisingly, due to the amount of good press the last issue got, they've kept the same new format as spring/summer- mixed papers, concept photography and manifesto style articles. Yeah, its lovely.
And my personal favourite spread, in tribute to YSL:
ace.

Fine Art Finalists 2010: The Catalogue.
It might sound bad - and I don't mean to ditract from the finalists' work, which obviously was the whole point of the degree show - but one of the things I was most excited about was this years catalogue. It.is.amazing. It seems my obsession with magazines extends further than the glossies and hi-fash, gaah!
The layout this year moved away sharply from previous years, and instead of just a place to print the finalists names, it is almost a work of curatorial art in itself.
The catalogue begins and ends with double page spreads showcasing the finalists previous works, while the middle houses the more traditional list of finalists, each with thier own page. What makes it extra special is the QUALITY of the book - the paper is reminiscent of the uncoated pages of Man About Town, while the layout was definately The Gentlewoman/ Fantastic Man. It is designed by finalists Owen Chapman and Christian Tilt, and you can tell theyve put a shit load of work into it. It has deffo got me inspired for next year! Here are my favourite pages.
And my very favourite page (By Abi Bryant):

Man About Town Spring/Summer 10
Yup, the collection keeps growing.
The latest additions to my growing pile of printed paper loveliness include (finally!) The Gentlewoman and this season's Arena Homme + (Which continues to be my favourite biannual. If not just my favourite magazine full stop). I also happened upon the new Man About Town - who knew Reading WHSmith could be such a fucking GOLD MINE? (seriously, I usually have to lug all these back from London, so it was so exciting to find them all. Rumour is it (according to Arianne, so we know who to blame if its a lie) theres also Fantastic Man there too, but I didnt see it when I was there. anywayanywayanyway I distract!).
I must admit this is only my second time buying Man About Town, the (first being last season), but I fully intend to keep on buyin', I LOVE it.
I love the typography, and the paper they use smells lovely and is that nice sort of uncoated paper often found in Pop magazine pull outs (know what I mean?). Last season also had a glossy editorial in the centre but this issue is all soft and papery goodness throughout (I really couldnt work out how to articulate that sentence?).
Anyway enough of my stilted vocabularic mumblings (woop for new words, muthafuckers), here are some of my favourite pages...
I know the images are awful. Two words: deal with it.

I needs help?
I needs help? I has problem? Yes. Yes I does.
K, say hai to my magazine collection. Isnt it pretty?
Yup, pretty much my most major obessesion with fashion is the magazines. I think I get about 5 a month at the moment, I keep discovering new ones I just gotta buyyy. Theres still so many more from this season I havent got yet either (Fantastic Man, The Gentlewoman, Lula, Man about town, Arena Homme +...) so it will probably be growing even more in the coming weeks. This lot doesnt include my 2 years worth of subscriptions to Harper's Baazar and the Elles I buy reguarly coz to be honest they go straight onto my cutting pile. I used to cut up all of them (some of my early vogues are in tatters :( im sad to say!) but now I keep them all pristine and have done so for the last 2 and a bit years. But the Elles and Harpers pretty much cure my craving to cut out all the pretty pictures. Well sometimes.
The pile on the left is sort of my mis match pile, with the one off magazines Ive bought etc. Well it started off as my TANK pile but now they have that new ring bound format that doesnt stack so nicely so I keep those on my bookshelf now. From bottom to top: Interview June/July 09, Hercules issue 05 (probs s/s 09 I think), 5 TANKs (Volume 5 I think but i dunno the numbers and cant be bothered to pull them out to look right now haha), Another magazine issues 17&18, SUPERSUPER # 18, Man About Town =05 A/W09, GQ Style 10, 10 Men (yuck, the worst magazine I ever bought) S/S'10, Fantastic Man Winter 09, Elle Collections s/s'10 (I usually cut these up too, but this seasons was amaazin), WAD #44 (got it in Paris), Flux - The Hysterical Issue, Lula F/W 09, Vogue Hommes International 11, Bon International (one of my favourites of all time) s/s'10, Jalouse Avril 2010...
The pile on the right is a bit more organised! Wonderland magazine May 2008- Feb/March 2010 (I need to get this months - carey Mulligan is on the cover looking sweeet), Love issue 1-3, Arena Homme + S/S 08- A/W 09, Another Man s/s 09-s/s 10, Pop 19-22 (both covers of issue 21).
Left: i-D May 2008 - Spring 2010. Im missing issues 288 and 293. CAN YOU HELP WITH THIS? Above the i-Ds: Dazed and Confused Vol II # 62-84... Im missing 64 and 66 and my #78 (october 09) got stolen and was my favourite ever so PLEASE if anyoine has this and you dont want it, EMAIL ME!!!!!!!
