Arielle de Pinto - make me a Monster

Hey Mofos. OK yes I am back but I am half way through this bastard essay (1000 words left ugh) so I do deserve a break. And also do you know how annoying it is trying to write an essay with no backspace key, no left key and a green line permenantly down your screen? it is very annoying.

SO do you remember that mask I knitted a while ago? Well I was just perusing the interwebs, when I came across (via AnOther Loves) the wonderful work of jewellry designer Arielle de Pinto. WOW! She has created this completely amazing hand made technique working with metal, where I guess she sort of knits it? or like crochet? I literally have no idea, but it is so beautiful. Sort of like when you go into antique shops, like the sort of ones that just have rooms and rooms of assorted junk, and like in the corner you find this one beautiful musty dusty creation and its just lovely. yeah, thats what its like. The new 2010 collection carries over key styles and looks from the 2009 collection, however with the help of a really stunning look book, it is like the pieces are compleely transformed into something from a weetzie bat dream. Im especially drawn to the monster mask, but I would love any other of the pieces, so gooood.

Hello essay I hate you please go away.

YA! Its the first of (probably) many essay avoidance posts! yipee! IN MY DEFENCE my internet hasnt been working most of the day, so I HAVE been doing lots of reading and I have managed just under 500 words (just under a quarter? eek). I also managed to tidy my room? AND its a good job I did coz i sorta found the source of a certain smell thats been in there the last few days... cat wee on my skinny jeans? ok ok ok too much information, Iamusuallycleanipromiseivejustbeenreallybusy ok ok ok. So anyways, because my internets have been jammed, I havent been able to get onto spotify which was hella annoying at first, but then kinda fun coz it made me get out all of my old favourite CDs. so yeah here is just a selection of songs Ive been listening to (lazypost):

This was the first time I ever heard Martha wainwright back in 2005, and Ive never looked back. I cant remember if Ive seen her twice or three times now, but she is so incredible I really think I need to see her again again. Oh it is definately 3, maybe 4 actually.



I also started watching the Karen Carpenter story today. I sort of feel like theres been a few made? well this one was sorta sweet like late 80s early 90s sorta vibe. I mean it was sort of terrible like one of those cheap ones made for lifetime (is that right?) but I enjoyed it so far, plus i loveloveolove the carpenters. I think Ill finish watching it tomorrow.

Hey heres that bag I was telling you kids about. I got it at that same market for just £10! CRAZY BONES! Its made completely out of bike parts (well apart from the straps and the zips? so I guess not COMPLETELY...), the main material is the inner wheel tubes, and the spikes are made from the valve things. OH YEAH YOU CAN TELL I TOTALLY KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. Anyway the point is its ran and I love it. Its like totally power bitch bondage GOTH, but that doesnt matter to me, in fact suddenly I love power bitch bondage goth. Anyway Im thinking that pairing it with something dainty (My new floral shirt and some brogues, say) will be some totally awesome oxymoronic funtime outfit that I plan to wear a plenty in the coming months. Well Im thinking early spring, anyways.

SO guys, did anyone get any good shit in the sales??? I havent even been shopping (and wont be able to untill like, next week?) so I wont be getting nothing (except maybe some more long johns from the uniqlo website sale), and I didnt even last year either. Arent the sales supposed to be getting shitter as well? I just saw on the news this huge line of crazies outside selfridges and heard about some fight outside of Gucci, hah. Anyway I may not have got any new shit in the sales, but I was lucky enough to stumble onto this amaaaaazing Bhudda Market vintage pop up shop in the little town where I work. Well aparently its been there since the end of August, but just my bastard luck I got there just as they were shutting down, and in fact it left last sunday, boo. But its OK coz I did still manage to get some well good things. Im gonna do a whole post on this bag I got, but for now Im just gonna show you these sunglasses and blouse I got.

OH LORD I LOVE THEM.
The shirt was a mere three bob, and is totally handmade vintage lovelyness at its best. its sort of like a very very soft cord, and this colour blue is the sort of colour which is only available in vintage. Like you dont get this colour new.
The sunglasses are 1960s Polaroids, and shit hotttt. Ive got this whole look planned out for them in my head. I cant really explain it right now but I will soon I promise.

Ya, totally just watched this. Im sure its so undderated. It has some of the best lines ever too. and costumes. ya is good, go watch it again, i bet youve forgotten how good it is.
In other news, yesterday I watched a film with Thora Birch in called Train and it is the shittest film ever and I am so so so so so so so dissapointed in her. Like how can you go from this

Whattheheckfest yo, how has this happened? Another year gone by in the blink of an eye. I don't think twothousandandnine has been the best year, however alot of really nice things have happened too, which I am ever thankful for. I hope twothousandandten brings only good things and that everyone I love is safe and happy. I think alot of big things might be happening this year. I dont know what is happening though, but lets make is happen, promise? OK I don't really keep resolutions (OMG when I get back to Reading Im gonna type out some of my old ones from my old old diarys, just for jokies. I make myself cringe though so maybe I won't.) but if there is one thing I really want to do, its to make this here bastard blog well good and post lots and be exciting and hip and all that crazy shit. OK DEAL? yeah, we can do it. Im just now re-installing photoshop onto my lappy, so once thats done we can get to bizzyness.

The ghost of christmas past

One of my very best presents this year came from Kieran, in the shape of this slide and negative scanner. Its so rad. These are my favourite things Ive scanned so far. Ive had these negatives stuck on my window for like, years. like a decoration. well I know Im quite stupid really because it did bugger them uip, but i dont mind since I really love how it has changed the images. Quite apropriately these pictures were taken on christmas day! I think it must have been at lease 5 or 6 years ago. I dont remember much of it. These pictures probably make it look better than it was...

 

I dont know why my family look so... chavvy in these. hah.
