This was today please.

Man you know what I have basically spent the whole day just trying to get a good outfit shot. Well thats a bit of an exaggeration but it was very difficult, hence the multiple locations etc....

Shirt: found/hand painted. Tie: DIY knitted.Cuff: Gift

Ive sort of been experimenting with the tie all day. You see I just knitted it last night at like midnight, it was gonna be way longer so i could tie it round and then into a bow, but I wanted to go to bed by half 12 so it was shorter than planned. In the end I tied it into a small bow and then pinned it into place. fun times. I added the jumper (Uniqlo) for the studio, since I wanted it to be a bit more casual. YASEE.

Hey Dana Skully. YOU SEE, its good isnt it. Jeans: H&M. cant see em but Im wearing ma brogues.

Well thats it. Hope you all had a good day. Im currently applying to Countdown (uhhuh), and then im off to gospel choir. oh exciting life :)

oh hey ALSO

the charity shops in Henley on Thames are pretty much the best ever. check out this KILLER skull i got yesterday...

for a mere FIVE BOB. FIVE BOB!!!!!! woop woop.

its by Design Clinic, and I found them on thier website. except thiers are 50 bob. heheheheheh.

Ive been watching...

Here is what I have learnt:

Cardigans worn backward: YES YES YES
Skeleton earrings: The BEST
Nude/dirty white lace type affair worn as a snoody scarfy hood: DEFINATELY NEED

I wish I had pictures. I am a lame blogger type.

ALSO Dont you think... OK, it is one thing when someone has a style which is really ugly and ill concieved and just totally tragic, but it is ANOTHER thing when someone just doesnt CARE. eugh! This is definately how I feel. Like I dont care what you wear but I would rather you try and fail than dont try at all. Basically where I work has virtually 360 degree windows so I spend alot of time looking at people, and this is generally how I feel. And also when I say style I dont mean just copying whatevers on the mannequins of your local primark/topshop etc etc, or what cheryl cole is wearing on the cover of heat, I mean like STYLE. so basically care about what you wear or prepare to be judged. This is my advice to you. ok.

PS: blue leg: Uniqlo, Black leg: H&M, dino tee: old old ancient, green hoody: H&M, shirt and cardigan: Uniqlo.

whats yo favourite number? FREE!

ohh heeeey. whats all that stuff about the best things in life being free? Anyway I love getting free things, and whats better than free clothes??? So last term in the art department there was like this massive pile of old clothes, i think mostly taken from old theatre companies or costume shops because basically it mostly consisted of hilarious ruffled dresses and big old wizard cloak things. It was pretty much a free for all so of course me being me and loving a find I got stuck right in and left with a huge armfull of stuff. OK I will admit I came away with a green velvet cloak, some sort of nun dress and the purple skirt used to make THIS, however I did also find some good shit. Firstly THIS top, which is a sort of shakespearean artisan affair which is fun to wear but sort of unpracticle when youre clumsy like me. I also got pretty much a full suit but it was huge and itchy so i think I chucked it. But probably my best find was this shiiirt which i love. Its black with a gold bib like arrangement on the front. I wore it for the first time out last week with black H&M skinny jeans and black and gold snake bracelet my sister got me for my birthday. Umm I guess I didnt really get any good outfit shots (it was a fun night!) but hopefully you get the idea from these?

Necklace Vivienne Westwood. I don't know what Claire is wearing (sorry).

FREEZE!

So this last weekend was the Frieze Art Fair in Regents park. Basically its a fuckoff massive event where about 150 contemporary galleries showcase works and try to sell sell sell them.
Me and Siobhan headed on down there to see what the hell was going on, and I must say we were a little underwhelmed. Is that the right word? anyway what I meant is its not as good as I thought it would be. It was my first year going so I dont have anything to compare it to, but I dunno, I just expected more. The first problem is that it is toooooooo big. Also considoring how big it is youd think there'd be a bit more of a varied selection of work... But I swear everything looked the same.

OK dont get me wrong its not completely awful, and as an art lover I did enjoy seeing some of the pieces, its just not as good as I thought ok. The pictures are of some of the sculptures that were outside, Im not sure who they were by. Siobhan took lots of pictures inside which I'll put up as soon as she sends.

So yeah it was a fun day out, its just that we felt a bit like this:

So im totally knitting a mask at the moment. I dont really want to say too much about it at the moment in case A) it turns out badly, B) I get bored half way and never finish it and C) someone copies it (unlikely, but yknow). Anyway Im jus' sitting here watching ugly betty and knitting and I thought you should all know.
Oh also, ths is from a few weeks ago but I finally uploaded a picture of one of my latest cakes. Probably bat for lashes inspired. Definately delicious.

And now Im going to finally start editing that film I took in the summer of the road kill hare. Fun times ahead.

Sunday, 11 October 2009

Oh hey, remember I said ages ago about the Exquisite Bodies exhibit at the Wellcome collection thats on at the moment? I finally went to see it today and its amaazing. Im so annoyed its ending on sunday because I would really love to go again but I wont have time. Like it was so aesthetic in its gruesomeness. I dont know I think I always say this sort of thing and no one understands but im sure you do!!!

I was then planning on going to the tate for the Pop Life exhibition going on at the moment, but eugh it was so hot and SO many people. It wasnt a gallery it was a fucking tourist trap. massive que to get into Pop Life so we wandered around the other galleries for a bit, but I forgot the Rothko room has moved and there was so many people it just freaked me out and I had to leave. it was wierd and all I kept thinking about was all these people breathing over the art. I dunno, weird. I bought some nice shit from paperchase though so that made me happy. glitter baby deer anyone? hellooo.

Well Im currently watching The September Issue and it is so good so i dont wanna interrupt that too much. Sorry this is another boring post isnt it? I am so busy busy busy right now. Oh hey Im knitting a mask. Thats exciting.

I love you all.
